Business Ready Licensing

In 2006, Microsoft introduced Business Ready Licensing (BRL) to help Microsoft Dynamics customers get more value from their solution. We bundled modules that offer a wide range of functionality—from basic to advanced—to best support your business processes and needs.

BRL greatly simplifies how to buy and implement your Microsoft Dynamics solution, so you can focus on your users instead of on mapping out a detailed list of modules or granules.

BRL is available in two editions based on the level of functionality provided to meet your needs.
Business Essentials Edition
The Business Essentials Edition is for customers who need core financial management and trade functionality, including:

  • Basic Financial Management (e.g., General Ledger, A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets)
  • Basic Supply Chain Management (e.g., sales order processing, purchase order processing, inventory)
  • Basic Business Intelligence and Reporting
  • Basic Configuration and Design Tools

Advanced Management Edition
For growing, midmarket, or high functional needs customers who want a broad set of functionality, this edition includes:

  • All functionality included in the Business Essentials Edition
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting
  • Manufacturing
  • Advanced Supply Chain management (e.g. Bill of Materials, requisition management)
  • Advanced Financial Management (e.g. collection, cash management)
  • Project Management
  • Customer Relationship Management* (*Sales and Marketing in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics AX)

Advanced Management Enterprise
For customers with complex needs, this extends the Advanced Management Edition with a rich set of functionality modules that must be purchased individually:

  • Advanced Manufacturing (shop management, capacity planning, job costing)
  • Advanced Project Management
  • Customer Relationship Management (Field Service)
  • Advanced Configuration and Development Tools (including source code access)

Additional Components
With BRL, modules are also available à la carte for all editions and can be added individually to serve your unique business needs.

The Microsoft Dynamics Business Ready Enhancement Plan (BREP) offers multiple features that help to maximize the value of the Microsoft Dynamics solution. These benefits include the ability to upgrade to newer versions of the software when they become available, as well as to receive fixes, updates, service packs, and tax and regulatory releases.
